This Filson Down Cruiser Vest is a warm, versatile layer than can be worn on its own in cool temperatures or under a jacket when the snow flies. The wind- and water-repellent oil finish Cover Cloth exterior is reinforced with oil finish Shelter Cloth on the pockets and lower back for increased abrasion resistance. Fully insulated with lightweight goose down that keeps you warm in frigid temperatures. Outfitted with a Ripstop-nylon lining with mechanical stretch, Flannel-lined handwarmer pockets, snap-flap chest pocket and slotted utility chest pocket and a drop tail for added coverage.

Traceable and certified goose down

The goose down that insulates this vest consists of large spherical clusters of the soft under-plumage of gray geese, each cluster with thousands of soft filaments that trap heat. This is why goose down has been the champion of lightweight warmth for centuries. Filson use only responsibly-sourced goose down, which means that the geese that provide it are treated humanely–never live-plucked or force-fed. All of Filsons goose down is traceable and certified to follow the RDS (Responsible Down Standard), and is processed in bluesign®-approved facilities.

Filson Down Cruiser Vest’s shell is mostly built with Cover Cloth, Filsons lightest-weight oil finish waxed fabric–thoroughly saturated with Filsons special wax mixture to ensure maximum water resistance. Filson deployed Shelter Cloth, their midweight oil-finish fabric, for the pockets and lower-back for added durability. Merino wool lines the collar, so your necks feels warm even if snow blows under the brim of your hat. The front pockets are arranged much like Filson work vests, with side-entry hand pockets and snap-flap cargo and slotted-utility pockets. It’s lined with 1.4-oz. ripstop nylon, so lightweight it’s virtually unnoticeable apart from the comfort it provides.
