The heritage-inspired design celebrates the original Danner caulked logging boots originally made in the 1930s in the Pacific Northwest. Celebrating vintage designs, Logger 917 features a full-grain leather upper cut from the re-imagined pattern of the original logging boot. A modernized stitchdown construction adds more stability while maintaining the brand’s signature look.

Crafted with Danner's trusted quality and durability, the Logger 917 is designed to keep your feet comfortable and dry wherever your adventure takes you. With a GORE-TEX waterproof lining and a Vibram SPE rubberized EVA midsole, the Logger 917 offers premium waterproofing and lightweight comfort, all in a rugged yet refined style.

FEATURES

• Full-Grain Leather Upper. To ensure its quality, Danner puts their leather through six different tests before making their selection. This full-grain leathers are the strongest and most durable form of leather.

• GORE-TEX (GTX) 100% waterproof and breathable, GORE-TEX liners ensure that no water gets in, while allowing sweat and moisture to get out.

• Removable OrthoLite Footbed. Three layers of varying density are combined for maximum cushioning and support. The entire footbed is made of open-cell polyurethane for better heat dissipation and air circulation.

• Vibram® SPE Midsole. This rubberized EVA midsole maintains the same cushioning properties as traditional EVA, but is more durable and won’t break down as easily. This technology enhances rebound, comfort and support.

• Vibram® 917 Outsole. Exclusive outsole for Danner featuring XS Trek rubber compound for an optimal balance of durability and traction in wet conditions on the trail or city streets.

• Modernized Stitchdown Construction. Combines our traditional stitchdown technique with cup sole construction that allows the boot to keep a wider platform while eliminating the need for a buffed sidewall. This gives our sneaker boots a modern aesthetic and lightweight, flexible finish.

• How It Fits. This boot is built on a new great-fitting, ergonomic last. It's true to size and has added footbed allowance for stability and greater underfoot support. It's easy to wear and comfortable for use in a variety of casual environments. We recommend choosing your usual size.

• Two Lace Options. Because you can never have too many laces, this pair comes with an alternate pair.

• Optional Kilties. This styles comes with a pair of kilties, sometimes called a false tongue, that helps protect the leather from debris that collects on the laces.

And a removable lace kiltie gives you an extra layer of protection on the top of the boot, so mud and debris won't get trapped between the laces.

The most important step in making an unlined work boot is the careful selection of leather. It is essential that the leather chosen is both strong and supple. To achieve this balance, Danner subjects leather skins to seven rigorous tests assessing their strength, density and resilience. Danner observes how the leather naturally molds to the contours of the foot over time, ensuring a personalized fit and long-term comfort. In addition, they rigorously assess durability to ensure the leather can withstand the rigors of different work environments for years to come.

ORTHOLITE FOOTBED

The design also incorporates an Ortholite footbed for superior shock absorption and comfort, that can be removed if desired. It has been made by combining 3 layers of varying density open-cell Polyurethane for maximum cushioning and support. The use of this material also benefits the wearer with better heat dissipation and air circulation.
